OUTDOOR FURNITURE ROUNDUP
Summer is here, and the weather in San Francisco is unusually summery this Memorial Day weekend! To quote (what is commonly misattributed to) Mark Twain, “The coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco.”
Anyone who lives here knows that are summers usually come in the fall, and specifically September and October. Which means we still have time to purchase and have outdoor furniture delivered! To help you with setting up your indoor/outdoor living situation, here’s a roundup of some of our favorite furniture brands for any price point.
1 / CB2 ($)
Most of you are probably familiar with CB2, but did you know they have great outdoor furniture? Their designs are clean, modern, and versatile - and all at a very good price point.
2 / FERMOB ($-$$)
Fermob is a French brand that is known for its colorful powder-coated metal outdoor furniture. The compact designs are perfect for smaller spaces, and can be purchased directly online! You can see a few of their products in person at the local San Francisco beloved plant nursery Flora Grubb.
3 / SKAGERAK ($-$$)
Skagerak is a Danish brand that has grown in popularity the past several years in the United Stated due to its quality design and affordable price points. 4 / ECO OUTDOOR ($$)
Eco Outdoor is an Australian company that opened its first US showroom in Los Angeles a few years ago. The high-quality, modern designs come in a range of wood, metal, and mesh materials. While its marketed as “luxury”, the price points are decidedly mid-tier.
5 / DESIGN WITHIN REACH ($$-$$$)
In recent years, Design Within Reach has been making efforts to bring in well-designed products at more affordable price points, and you can see this in their outdoor collection which includes $395 lounge chairs. Our particular favorites are a step above that price point and exclusive to DWR: the Sommer and the Finn collections.
6 / GLOSTER ($$$-$$$$)
Gloster is known for their teak furniture, and they place a high priority on sustainably sourcing their teak from well-managed plantations in Indonesia. Gloster’s beautiful, craftsman-produced designs are modern classics.
7 / DEDON ($$$$)
Last but not least, and the originator of what we know as outdoor woven furniture, is DEDON from Germany. DEDON frequently works with renowned designers for their collections and places a focus on innovation in materials.
